This ministry was begun in 2001, to help
serve the less fortunate in our own community. Four
times a year a collection is made of food, new clothing,
baby goods and other necessities in a specific
geographical area of our parish. With this system
parishioners are asked to give only once a year,
although contributions at other times of the year are
welcome. Volunteers deliver collection bags, along with
a list of desired items and a notice regarding the day
of pick up. A week later the volunteer returns to pick
up the filled bag (or a check if preferred) from the
parishioner’s door step. The bags are then delivered to
St. Max on a Saturday morning where pre approved
charities select the items they need. The needy are
served by this worthwhile project through twenty-three
charities including Catholic Charities, Many Mansions,
St. Vincent de Paul, School on Wheels and Senior
Concerns. See a complete list below.
If you have a few hours to spare you are invited to
participate in this wonderful outreach program for the
whole family. You can help by delivering the bags,
collecting them or helping with distribution. Or you can
just make a contribution. Call Norm Lamarra at the
number above to see how you can help. There are no
regular meetings to attend. The Project Response
